RTG Dream Run Slots Review
RealTime Gaming is a Costa Rican developer of online slots. Established in 1998, RTG began developing slots just a few years after the first online casinos appeared on the web.
The developer now has a broad portfolio of both classic style slots and video slots, all of which are available for free and real money play. RTG slots are also available to US players, which is unique in the online gaming industry.
Dream Run is one of RTG’s video slots that revolves around a street racing theme. The game contains 5 reels and 25 adjustable paylines, as well as mini and major jackpots, free spins, and more bonus features.
Look and Feel of Dream Run
Dream Run is set in the middle of a city, and the slot’s reels spin against a backdrop of tall skyscrapers. The reels themselves are formed out of tyre skid marks, and blue and green tattoo-like patterns frame the reels and the pay table. Blue and orange car grills form the pay table buttons and the areas that display players’ recent wins and jackpot values.
The mini and major jackpot amounts are displayed just above the reels to the left and right of the screen. Each spin of the reels is accompanied by a revving car sound effect, and winning combinations are animated and offer their own soundtracks as well.
Reel Symbols and Highest Payouts
There are both character symbols and playing card icons on the reels of RTG’s Dream Run slot. The playing card icons range from 9 to A, and are displayed in a tyre track style to suit the theme. These symbols award the lesser valued payouts in the base game.
There are also several main symbols on the reels. They include speedometers, nitro boosters, guns, tyres, steering wheels, and a blonde bombshell who referees the Dream Run street races. The blonde bombshell is the highest paying symbol here, awarding up to 2,500x players’ stakes for 5 of a kind.
Dream Run Wilds and Scatters
Dream Run contains 2 different wild symbols. Both of them have the ability to substitute any of the other symbols on the reels, barring the scatter. The Racer wild symbol appears only on reel 1, and triples any wins in which he appears. The Opponent wild appears on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.
The scatter symbol in Dream Run is the traffic light icon. Landing 5 of these will award up to 100x in scatter pays, and 3 or more will also trigger the Dream Run Bonus game.
Dream Run Bonus Game
In the Dream Run Bonus game, players will be required to select a race car to complete 5 races. Depending on the chosen car’s performance, players will then be awarded up to 25 free spins, a cash prize of up to 100x their triggering bet, and up to 7x multipliers for the free spins game. It might be a totally different look if this was an AFL betting game, but the theme with the cars makes for an interesting and enjoyable slot.
Nitro Racing Bonus Feature
The Nitro Racing feature will be triggered when players have collected 10 Racer wilds on the reels of the base game. In this feature, players must also select a car to compete in 5 races, and free spins and multipliers will again be on offer.
However, if players get to races 4 and 5 in this feature, they will also have the chance to win the Dream Run mini and major jackpots.
